We come highly recommended
A perfect getaway. From our table on the patio we could watch the Irish-speaking fishermen come and go, and watch teams rowing curraghs in preparation for the festival – a scene straight out of the Bord Failte brochure.
After some exploring, we returned often to Moyrus and Mweenish beeches, both within easy cycling distance. We brought bikes, and it’s perfect cycling and running country – beautiful, varied scenery with very little traffic. The house was pristine and spacious. Riona was always friendly and helpful but never intrusive. Highly recommended.
We had an amazing week at Bru na mara with our two boys (1 and 4). We absolutely loved exploring the rocky shore and walking around the quiet country roads (complete with cows, sheep, and donkeys which my boys loved). The house was immaculate and nicely decorated. Riona made us feel very welcome and we really appreciated her local expertise. This is the perfect location for anyone looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city (the closest large town is 45 minutes away). For any allergy sufferers, my sinuses never felt better; probably a testament to the cleanliness of the house and the fresh Wild Atlantic Way air.
Our stay at Bru Na Mara exceeded our expectations. Riona was a wealth of knowledge and took time to share loads of local tips. It was also lovely to hear about the history of the property. The location of this home is perfection…to wake every morning to the sound of birds and take a stroll down the lane or along the water is something we will never forget. The location is remote but the little village has a couple of shops and pubs. We fished from the pier and caught Mackrel and Pollack for dinner one evening. Day trips are easy with Clifden, Galway, Kylemore Abbey and more within an hour or so away. Our children loved it – they were free to run, climb, hunt for crabs and simply enjoy the fresh air! If we could go back tomorrow we would! We couldn’t recommend this home more!
