About Sonas
The spectacular surroundings, rich in both flora and fauna are also ideal for fishing and birdwatching. The beautiful unspoiled white sand beaches at Moyrus and Mynish are also extremely popular with children. The apartment is the ideal base for a comfortable, restful and relaxing holiday.
Bru na Mara is a beautiful complex just outside Carna on the Wild Atlantic Way, that combines traditional design with modern comfort. The site overlooks a small harbour, and has spectacular views of the sea, the historic Mason and St MacDara’s islands, and the beautiful surrounding countryside. Situated in the south west corner of Connemara, the complex is an ideal location for touring and exploring Connemara and South Mayo. Carna, which is situated in the Gaeltacht (Irish speaking region) is an important centre for Traditional singing, music, and dancing, with weekly sessions in neighbouring Kilkieran. There are a host of activities within easy reach, including a number of spectacular, unspoiled white sand beaches at Moyrus, (1.5 km) Mynish (7 km) and Callowfinish (8 km). The area is also ideal for walking or cycling, with little traffic, stunning views, and the cleanest air in Europe.

Amazing landscape, beautiful spot. We stayed for one week. The apartment and the place fully met our expectations. Ideal for a quiet and relaxing stay to enjoy the lovely coast and nature.
Such a wonderful location. We spent a week in Carna at Riona’s and found it to be a restful, quiet and perfect place. While it’s a drive to get to for many, we found it well worth it for the beautiful oceanfront views and walks. Fabulous relaxing holiday. An absolutely stunning place looking out to sea.
